Mathias Catholic Hospital was established in 1991 by the JMJ Sisters in a small structure through the instrumentality of the late Bishop of then Sunyani Diocese, Most Rev. James Kojo Owusu. Since then the JMJ Sisters have continued to manage the hospital. It is the only hospital in the Pru East District and serves as a major referral point for about 10 public and private health institutions within the surroundings districts The hospital has a bed capacity of 205 being handled by staff strength of 401 currently. The hospital is under the political administration of the Pru East District Assembly of the Bono East Region of Ghana

Our beloved ambulance, which was sent to Kumasi for routine maintenance, was tragically consumed by fire. Despite the best efforts of local responders, the vehicle was completely destroyed and experts confirm it is beyond repair. This ambulance was more than just a vehicle โ it was a lifeline for countless patients across our region. It responded to emergencies, transported the critically ill, and brought hope to families in their darkest moments. **We cannot afford to pause.
